Excel is great for crunching numbers, but it's also a simple database solution for many. Luckily, with a few handy formulas, Excel can learn to crunch your alpha-bits too.
Kodak's EasyShare M1093 IS packs an excellent 10-megapixel sensor, a crisp, 3-inch LCD, and it can record high-definition video—all for $159.95 (direct). Despite a comparative lack of speed, solid image quality coupled with a wealth of features and a palatable sub-$200 price help the M1093 unseat our current reigning champ, the Canon PowerShot A1000 IS ($149.99 list), to become our latest Editors' Choice budget point and shoot camera.
The M1093 has the weight and dimensions of a deck of cards (2.25 by 3.65 by 0.78 inches—HWD; 5.12 ounces with the battery and SD card). Despite my test camera's racy red finish (you can also opt for a black or white), the M1093 is boxy and plain-looking. The camera offers a 3x optical zoom lens with a focal length of 35-105mm (35mm equivalent), and a maximum aperture of f/3.1 to f/5.7. Unlike its less-expensive sibling, the Kodak EasyShare M340 ($149.95 direct), the M1093 benefits from optical image stabilization.
